PRICE: single $3490 or twin $2895
Join me in Penang for an incredible nine-day adventure through the UNESCO World Heritage Site, George Town, and the fabulous beach front resort area of Batu Ferringhi. This trip is the most amazing combination of luxury historical accommodation, colonial and Peranakan architecture, some of the best food in Asia and lots of fun exploring. And of course, food and cocktails!
You will spend four nights in a Deluxe Suite in the exclusive Heritage Wing of the magnificent Eastern and Oriental Hotel Penang, sister to Singapore’s Raffles Hotel and built by the Armenian Sarkies Brothers in 1885. Your suite will overlook the palm-fringed pool and sea and you’ll receive a bottle of wine on arrival, and enjoy daily afternoon tea and complimentary minibar. A delicious breakfast of local and international dishes is included and I feel like I will have to drag you away from this stunning hotel to explore.
And explore we will! For the first four days we will eat, drink, relax and explore the streets of George Town with its heritage colonial architecture, ornate Peranakan mansions and hidden Chinese temples and historical homes. We will visit the fabulous Hin Bus Depot markets on Sunday and listen to live music, check out the local arts and craft and eat local food – plus there’s a delicious array of cocktails and wine to enjoy too.
We will explore the Clan jetties along the George Town waterfront, wander the seafront esplanade to Cornwallis Fort, eat fresh, delicious local dishes at hawker markets, and dine at renowned restaurants and cocktail bars. We will have fresh seafood and satay, dinner on the beach and take the funicular up to the top of Penang Hill to explore the Habitat rainforest experience. We will visit Kek Lok Si Temple – the largest Buddhist temple in Malaysia – and smaller temples where we will learn their history and how to make an offering. We’ll try cendol, coconut shakes, shaved ice, roti canai, teh tarik, Hainan chicken rice, nasi lemak, laksa, chicken and beef satay and all the local food we can eat.
We will spend our afternoons by the incredible Eastern and Oriental pool, and have the E&O’s famous high tea at the Palm Court. Each evening we’ll have canapes and drinks in the Cornwallis Room.
After four days of luxury we will move half an hour north to the beautiful beachside resort town of Batu Ferringhi, where we will stay at the stunning ParkRoyal on the beach, within walking distance of hawker markets and shopping.
We will have lunch on the beach at Frandy’s Beach Bar and the adventurous among us will spend the day zipcoasting and watersliding at Escape Penang while those of us who want to chill will visit Entopia Butterfly Farm and Penang Tropical Spice Garden. There’ll be free time to visit places you miss if you would like to.
This is a luxurious and fun escape for women wanting to explore, eat, relax and revive!
This tour is from 2 December to Sunday 10 December 2025 when it is warm and dry.
We are staying in the most amazing accommodation – once you experience the Eastern & Oriental you won’t want to leave, and the Park Royal Batu Ferringhi is a fabulous beach front resort with hammocks, swimming pools and swings – just perfect for relaxing – and close to all the fun.
Our trips are land only so you will need to book your flight into Penang. You can search for the best prices on Skyscanner or go direct to airlines.
While we’ve left the flight bookings to you, you must arrive in Penang by the afternoon of 2 December – just let me know your arrival time so I can arrange your transfer. You’ll also depart from Penang on 8 December – an afternoon flight is best if possible, or you might wish to stay longer! Let me know and I can extend your room.
From Australia you can fly with Air Asia, Malaysia Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Scoot, and from other countries there should also be many options as Kuala Lumpur, is a major hub. I suggest looking on Skyscanner for the cheapest options and then checking on the airlines website. I’m happy to help with flights.
This is a women only trip and EVERYONE is welcome! There are no age restrictions or any requirements – it is all about having a great time together in a supportive environment.

Everyone who comes with us must have travel insurance. I recommend Cover-More insurance – I’ve used them since 1997 when I first went backpacking and they’ve always been amazing with help and quickly paying claims. You can use any insurance company you like – just make sure you read the PDS and make sure you’re well covered.
Please check if you need a visa. Australians get a 90 day visa on arrival.
